Yes, Seattle has invented a new word. They have eliminated the "SayWA!" branding which was a half million dollar fiasco and replaced it with a made up word. I’m not sure how I feel about this. I actually think it’s a word that fits our city fairly well…but we’re also an educated city that, well, like real words.
I don’t hate it. But I still think for half a million dollars and a year worth of work you could come up with something better. This term will not be accepted into regular vocabulary around the country. At most it will be mentioned in the local paper, magazines, and blogs. Maybe some outside sources will manage to make fun of it and if you’re living by the fact that there is no such thing as negative PR, well I guess you just created some PR.
