You know you’re a fan when…

So I went to Canada this weekend to visit some friends and watch some TWU basketball.  I got to see a very exciting game up there on Friday night, Trinity lost to UBC 127-125 (Don’t quote me on the score)  It was a triple overtime game that was so much fun to watch.  I got to watch the game with some great friends, and it was very exciting.  Too bad we couldn’t pull it out.

So the next day another exciting game happened, and I was unable to watch it.  I figured the Beavers had a chance, but I wasn’t to optimistic, I figured I could  miss the OSU vs. USC game.  USC was #3 in the country and had won 27 straight Pac-10 games.  Well, they came into Corvallis, and the Bweavers showed up to play.  The Beavers pulled off the huge upset, and won the game 33-31.  GO BEAVERS!

The funny part about all of this is that I didnt’ answer my phone in Canada and when I crossed the border today, I checked my messages.  I had 8 voicemails and 6 text messages, all of which had a reference to the game.  I love it!  I just wish I had been in Corvallis this weekend.

Clean Pumpkin Carving…and free.

Here’s a cool site that has a pumpkin to carve.  Once you’re done carving it, turn off the lights and see what it looks like lit up.  My Aunt sent this to me and it’s very cool.  I think this is the year that I have been the least into Halloween since, well I don’t remember when.  No pumkin, no costume, no plans.  Now I just need to get some candy for the kids, uhhh, I just hate having it around while I sit around and do nothing.  That’s just a disaster waiting to happen.

Chocolate is the new black

Went to a party put on by Verizon (to advertise their new "Chocolate" phones) and by Seattle Metropolitan magazine.  It was hosted by Ibiza, which is a VERY cool bar.  I never knew about it before, but I think I may go back now that I know it’s there.  Went wih two friends and had a great time.  It took awhile to get there, with late work, and poor cell coverage, but it was a very good event.  Nice work Seattle Metro and Verizon.

Season 2 down

Took two evenings, but I did it.  I finished Entourage in two evenings.  Now I need to figure out how to get my hands on season 3…it doesn’t look like it is coming out anytime soon on DVD.  No, I’m not proud of this accomplishment (probably shouldn’t call it that).  I just think it is the funniest show I have seen in a long time.  (Maybe The Office, but I’m all caught up on that.)

Not Draftastic

Comcast…why are you so bad at delivering internet to me when I need it.  I play fantasy sports (football, baseball, basketball, college, pro, etc.)  I have about 3-4 drafts a year.  Why is it that I have missed at least part of three of these drafts in the past two years.  That’s a hit rate of close to 50%.  For some reason I always (by always I mean 50% of the time, have internet problems while the draft is taking place.  Today I missed my first pick (luckily, I was number 1 and got Lebron through autoselect) and have continued to be blocked out of about half of the draft.  Makes for a very fun evening.

We shall see what my team looks like tomorrow, because right now I know about half the team, and have zero idea what the second half looks like…wait, ohh now I’m back in.. and back out.  I have a NW college powerhouse (Brandon Roy and Adam Morrison) due to them being in my Queue, although that was designed so that I could keep an eye on them  (well Morrison, I really want Roy).

It is so frustrating that, although I always like having the internet connection that I pay for, that when I really almost need it, I can’t even get online.  Good thing I don’t run a business out of my place, I’d be out of business with all of the late emails I would be sending.
