Every year this happens
Not that I have any plans thus far, but every year Halloween comes around and I wish I had a Frank the Bunny costume. It’s from Donnie Darko, one of my favorites, and it’s the perfect Halloween outfit. The prices have been dropping each year for the past 3 years, hopefully next year I can afford one, and will finally get one. This year they are down to $500 (as it’s the first time I have seen them made in somewhat mass production), previous years they have been about $1,500 or $3,000, as they were both custom made.
Next year $250ish?
Marathons are painful
Below are two reasons why I want to only run half a marathon. I think the risk involved in a full marathon is just a little much for me.
Watch the end of the second one, you get a super slow mo…
NFL OK’s two regular season games on international soil
The NFL has decided to start drawing in a more international crowd to play two games outside of the US, probably next year. Two regular season games will be played in either Mexico, Canada, England, or Germany. I sure hope it’s not the Seahawks (unless they play at BC Place) or the Bengals. This will be so tough on a team and I have a hard time believing that any team will want to give up a home game to play at an international venue.
Preseason games have taken place in Mexico City, Japan, and next year the Seahawks will play in Beijing. There is a HUGE difference between regular season and preseason. The amount of time is the largest issue, followed closely by giving up the revenue that a home game brings in for your team. The Cardinals played a “home” game last year in Mexico City, but they will not want to do that next year as they have a new stadium. Other teams who I would think could have a very successful game in Mexico City, mostly due to proximity would be Houston, Dallas, and possibly San Diego. All of those teams have very profitable home games, unlike the Cardinals did last year while playing in a college stadium (They still do if you count the naming rights, “The University of Phoenix” Field).
I’m sure the games will be sellouts and a huge deal, but I just wouldn’t want my team playing overseas during the regular season, or giving up a home game. Maybe Toronto or Vancouver will host one game and another in Mexico City, that would be the best option for testing this out.
Matt Leinart to endorse a crazy item
Matt Leinart, the rookie quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals who graduated last year from USC is hated by many NFL fans for being to much of a pretty boy. Well I guess his agents know that he has already been typecast for many reasons (being soft, being with Paris Hilton, being the biggest sports celebrity in LA as a college student) and have decided to play into that demographic. Leinart will be a new sponsor for Icelink Watches, who make very large and very sparkly diamond watches. We’re not talking Rolex, or Tag Heuer, we’re talking male version of, well, Paris Hilton style watches.
I wouldn’t do it as an agent, but I guess you have to know your clients and know who likes and does not like them and play into that demographic. I wish Leinart the best as his decision to return for his senior year of football probably cost him about $12 million dollars, makes everyone else’s tuition seem pretty small doesn’t it.
Entourage Season 2
Okay, this is not an exageration. I got Season 2 of Entourage in the mail today, and I went straight from coming in my front door to my DVD player, no joke. So far I have watched 9 in a single night, wow I hate wasting my time like that. At least I got upset at myself and did alot of situps and pushups while watching the show.
Season 2 has a much stronger story line which is great, but it makes it a very hard show to stop watching when you don’t have to much else going on and you want to see what happens next. They even go to a U2 show which brings back some great memories. I have the U2 DVD playing on my computer now while I type this. Attending two concerts and sitting, well standing, on the floor both times was not to bad at all. They play a GREAT show. I did not take my Irish flag like Johnny Drama though.
Anyways, back on subject, Entourage is a hilarious show that I have enjoyed a ton. The more I get into the story and the characters the better it is. I sure hope that Season 3 is out before Christmas, because I know what will be on my wishlist if it is out before then.
