More rare than the 4 strikeout inning…
Is this clip that I just saw earlier.
Looks like something out of Donnie Darko.
For those that don’t understand what I’m talking about. Look at the bat standing straight up after he drops it.
What some people call the triple play…
I am calling the 4 strikeout inning. If you include Gmail, Docs, Spreadsheets, and now this, that’s four big plays (not three) and I’m trying to stick with the baseball analogy. So there you have it, Google now has the 4 strikeout inning.
Google has now opened up “Presently” which is their new competitor to Microsoft’s PowerPoint. It looks pretty straightforward, and like Googles other offerings, very basic. That’s what’s great about their products, but it’s also what will hold them back from being “Enterprise Ready.”
I like the look of it, and from what I have seen thus far, I think I may use it for small team collaboration. It will take awhile for this to infiltrate any non startup offices, but it’s a start. The reason I have used Googles “Docs” and “Spreadsheets” have been because they’re easy to use and easy to share and collaborate with friends who have gmail. If you are working on a small presentation and don’t want to spend the money on Microsoft Office, you may want to check out “Presently.” If you’re going to be working on a single computer and don’t have to share the document all the time, I’d stick with PowerPoint for now.
Also, on another interesting note. I read about this on TechCrunch. They have said that Google was supposed to release “Presently” at TechCrunch40 tomorrow, but that the site is now live. Seems kinda weird to scoop your own conference doesn’t it??? The site’s live so I guess they have to say something, but truth of the matter is, I doubt many people would realize until the news hit TechCrunch and Digg.
Seahawks investment…
So the thing to wear to Seahawks games here in Seattle is a jersey. Now jersey’s aren’t cheap, and in particular, authentic jerseys are not cheap. I have this dilemma of buying a pro players jersey. With free agency, cutting players due to salary reasons, and the amount of trades these days, it’s hard to know how long your player will be on your team.
I think I need to bite the bullet this year and buy a jersey, but I am having a hard time figuring out which jersey to buy. The most popular jerseys here in Seattle are Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck. I like Matt, and think he’s a great QB, but I’m not going to buy a guys jersey who is over 30 (getting up there for the NFL) and kinda boring, plus it’s just way to popular. Shaun, nope I’m not going to buy his jersey. I love Walter Jones, but he’s been in the league 11 years, his career could soon be ending (although I hope not) So that leaves me with a question for you readers. Which Seahawks jersey should I buy?
The possibilities: Lofa Tatupu (maybe the third most popular jersey choice), Julian Peterson (will he stay here awhile?), Darryl Tapp (2nd year player who just earned the starting DE role 2 weeks ago), Joe Newton (Can you buy a practice squad players jersey? He’s a former Beaver and I just think it’s to risky as he might be traded off.), Seneca Wallace (backup qb, but may be getting some time in at wr soon).
Here are 4 jerseys I wish I could buy (I won’t get into specifics, but all 4 of these people could be and SHOULD be Seahawks): Steven Jackson, Chad Johnson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, or Mike Hass.
Seattle. America’s Worst Tailgate City
A report from Tailgating.com came out listing all of the NFL cities and how good they are for tailgating. As no surprise to me Seattle was at the bottom of the list. Of course this does not take into account the Lake Washington tailgating that can be done for Husky games, that would definitely put us higher on the list, if only for how unique and scenic it is.
The raitings were based on going to Qwest, how late the parking lots open, how little parking and room there is for tailgating, and just the overall crowd experience. I will agree with this rating as I have been to many other places, including Corvallis, where the tailgating is much, much better, with far fewer and less rabid fans.
Vancouver HDR Photos
I love HDR photos and I also love “post this on your blog and you get a free_____.” Those two things come together at Duane Storey’s site where he is showing off and selling his great HDR shots of Vancouver. Go here and check it out.
Here’s a great picture of his that I found on Vancouver.Metblogs
Now, I just hope I’m one of the first 20!
