So mean…but sooo funny

I have always felt bad for the women who get proposed to at a sporting event.  Maybe they love sports, but really, does the proposal belong on the jumbotron sandwiched in between high schoolers inviting people to prom?  I don’t think so.

Here’s a great prank from the guys at collegehumor.com.  Well at least one of the guys at the site thought it was great. There is some language at the end if you’re concerned about that.

And as a sidenote I was at the first game of that series between the Mariners and the Yankees last week. So it’s totally relevant for being on my blog.

See tennis can be fun…

Here’s a clip from the Tonight Show that shows Justin Gimelstob doing some pretty funny interviews around the US Open that just wrapped up.  I’ve known his name in the past, but wish that I would have seen this clip years ago.  I would have cheered for him to move up into at least the 300′s.  Favorite moments in this video would have to be Roger, Jenkovic, and of course him asking Justine Henin about the equal prize money.

The Worlds First $10.5M Phone…

Love this marketing campaign from Blackberry.  They’re selling their 8830 phone for $10.5 million.  Yes, for a phone.  The catch… you get a private island along with the phone.  Below, is the ad for the phone, and it’s a great piece, put together for the worlds billionaires.

There is an option on the official site though if you “…already own an island.  But I’ll take the phone on its own.”

Nice work Sprint and Blackberry.

Appalachian State is still HOT, HOT, HOT!

Since I’m a big football fan, you’ll probably be hearing more updates on random football stories over the next few months.  Since I have recently mentioned Appalachian State and their promo video of being Hot, Hot, Hot, why not do it again after this amazing weekend for the school.

Appalachian State made history on Saturday.  They became the first division 1-AA school to beat a nationally ranked Division 1 school in football…EVER.  That’s big news to begin with, but they also went into Michigan for this win.  A place that has a huge fan base (roughly 100,000 in the stands) and a program t hat before losing to Appalachian State was ranked 5th in the country.  That’s an exciting win and it just shows how Hot, Hot, Hot Appalachian State is right now.

Bumbershoot’s green efforts

I feel that so many companies that are going green today, use it for the PR and not for the actual purpose of going gree.  Here’s an example from this weekends Bumbershoot festival in Seattle.

One of Bumbershoot’s largest advertising campaignes this year was how it was going to be such a green event.  Here’s one line from their website, that was also plastered on many different posters around town:

We are pleased to announce a series of innovative and interactive strategies to make this year’s Bumbershoot the greenest ever!

Well from the looks and sounds of it, one of those strategies was not allowing water bottles into Memorial Stadium, the large concert stage used during the show.  Maybe they’re using some “innovative” strategy here, but from the looks of it, it’s not that green.
