Love the OKTV
You have such in depth knowledge of the tech word,
I am very interested in What you have read and the news that you bring.
Makes me want to investigate further.
Thanks Otis!
You have a great on-screen presence!
Otis, if you keep this up, I’ll be checking your site and drudgereport every day. Nothing else.
You’re the man, keep it coming.
You should talk about how you invented the starbucks BuyItNow feature that’s now on the iPhone.
Oh, and “Go f*** yourselves, San Diego” should be your tagline. What about “stay classy, interwebs.” “Stay classy tubes ‘n trucks?” “Stay classy, stalkers?”
The concept of putting the iPod Touch in students has to do with getting them used to the iPod Touch / iPhone interface aspects. I have played with my students’ iPod Touches, and I really like them, but I am with you on an anti-fondness for the iPhone “keyboard,” which would seemingly bother the hyper-texting younger crowd even more than it bugs me.
Thoughts on the Starbucks free wi-fi concept…they go much more into the Starbucks Card Rewards program, er efforts to get into customers lives for marketing purposes, so I am greatly interested in seeing where *$s marketing efforts go in the coming months.
As it relates to the “Stay Classy Seattle” bit, you are much bigger than simply copying Anchor Man. It is a bit odd that you would talk about building your brand and then ending your video using a movie’s tagline. You are not trying to mimic Ron Burgundy, so be unique…be you.
Thanks for the compliments everyone. All feedback is helpful.
I like that idea Aaron, maybe I will try to put together a longer episode or something once a week that goes into more detail on one specific item.
Todd,
I agree that getting people used to the iphone/ipod touch is a big part of this. I also think it will be a huge selling point with the Application store that will be launching next week. Apple makes a 30% cut on all applications sold, so that makes them want more devices that these applications can run on.
As for the Starbucks Rewards, I tried to follow up on that point some in todays episode. Check out the front page.

Value…on the Techy front, perhaps you could do a monthly/weekly show on software/products/websites that you use or like. Example…I just discovered hulu.com…let me show you how cool it is. Or…hey, I just bought lightroom for my computer, it was $200 and here is how I think it brings value over other free or purchased photo software. And don’t limit yourself to things that have come out in the last month. Do a show on how you bought your computer or why you decided to get a blackberry instead of an Iphone.
