I would argue that Oregon State fans tend to be pretty conservative. Corvallis generally is, as a farming community and the students there are far less likely to start/join a protest on a daily basis, than those at UO, ha. So he probably is already counting on the OSU vote. Campaigning towards UO fans is hitting the people that he probably knows he doesn't have locked in -- the VERY left Eugene/Ducks. Once again, this is all generalized... there are, of course, outliers in every group.

Very keen observation, though. I would ever have pegged it.

Haha... hippie colors.

I am not sure how much of an effect this will have one people, but it is a rather interesting tactic. What if he were to use the UO font and make the ads black and orange? I wonder if using the font means that he has to use green and yellow...does UO have rights to the font?

The one aspect of the ad I like is the OR within the state's image.

I just had a thought...maybe he wants to start his campaign strong, which would require using the UO green and yellow; however, he knows that to finish strong he will have to shed the green and yellow and pull our Beaver orange and black. Hey, don't hate the playa, hate the game! Go (UGA) DAWGS!
