Vancouver HDR Photos

I love HDR photos and I also love “post this on your blog and you get a free_____.”  Those two things come together at Duane Storey’s site where he is showing off and selling his great HDR shots of Vancouver.  Go here and check it out.

Here’s a great picture of his that I found on Vancouver.Metblogs

Now, I just hope I’m one of the first 20!

So mean…but sooo funny

I have always felt bad for the women who get proposed to at a sporting event.  Maybe they love sports, but really, does the proposal belong on the jumbotron sandwiched in between high schoolers inviting people to prom?  I don’t think so.

Here’s a great prank from the guys at collegehumor.com.  Well at least one of the guys at the site thought it was great. There is some language at the end if you’re concerned about that.

And as a sidenote I was at the first game of that series between the Mariners and the Yankees last week. So it’s totally relevant for being on my blog.

A second beer pong post…

Because it is to great not to follow up the story on the WSJ posting beer pong instructions.

There will soon be beer pong on the Wii.  As quoted from Deadspin.

Video game publisher Midway has a new game coming out for the Wii system. “Party Game” will consist of several games including shuffleboard, darts, and ski ball, but the game that will take over college campuses this fall is Wii beer pong. Or Wii Beirut. Or “Ping Cup” as Midway refers to it:

The object of ping cup is to use the Wii remote to throw a ping-pong ball at a pyramid of cups.

The Wii, entertainment for the whole family, even the kids that are home from college.

Again, I’m not a huge player of beer pong, but WOW, people are really taking it to the next level.  So weird to see a game move from the tailgater to the mass market like that.

[The Wii will get you bombed]

WSJ giving beer pong instructions

Today as I rode the bus to work I look at the front page of the WSJ to see an article about people making money off of beer pong.  For those of you that are unframiliar with it, you should go and tailgate at a football game this fall.  Watch what the college kids are doing and there you have it.

The other route to learning what beer pong is AND how to play it is to read Wednesdays edition of the WSJ.  Not only did they talk about how people are making money off the game now, but they also shared that the beer pong season was about to kick into full gear.  Then on the next page, yes, they had a diagram on how to play.  Not something I would have expected in the WSJ, but I guess Rupert is trying to get the MySpace crowd to start mixing in with the Journal crowd.

Beer Pong Diagram

Not that I have ever played, but this diagram was just to funny to me when you look at the source it is coming from. I wonder how many 50+ year olds will be trying to get together their friends for a game of beer pong? At least now they have instructions and don’t have to ask their kids how to play.

Sorry to keep talking about this…

I just saw a clip of Miss Teen South Carolina on the Today show from a few days ago. A few things that stood out. She says that she made a mistake, and that everybody makes mistakes. Okay, I could see that if she answered the question completely wrong, or if she got a state wrong, or talked on the wrong subject. That’s not the case though, she just made no sense. No sense at all.

The most amazing thing from the interview is that she said her plans are future goals and plans are to go to Appalachian State University for a degree in graphic design. If you’ve been a long time reader of this blog you may remember my post “K, I’m going back into video production.” It was a link to Appalachian State’s 2005 promo video. I guess it worked for someone…and I don’t think of great graphic design after seeing the video. For those of you who forgot, here’s the HOT, HOT, HOT video.

Satellite Dish rentals?

Has anyone ever heard of satellite dish rentals for a weekend?  Looking to have the ultimate tailgating experience this year and would really love to have a dish to show Gameday and other games on that day.  Wondering if anybody has ever heard of satellite dish rentals and if it’s even an option.
