Sorry to keep talking about this…
I just saw a clip of Miss Teen South Carolina on the Today show from a few days ago. A few things that stood out. She says that she made a mistake, and that everybody makes mistakes. Okay, I could see that if she answered the question completely wrong, or if she got a state wrong, or talked on the wrong subject. That’s not the case though, she just made no sense. No sense at all.
The most amazing thing from the interview is that she said her plans are future goals and plans are to go to Appalachian State University for a degree in graphic design. If you’ve been a long time reader of this blog you may remember my post “K, I’m going back into video production.” It was a link to Appalachian State’s 2005 promo video. I guess it worked for someone…and I don’t think of great graphic design after seeing the video. For those of you who forgot, here’s the HOT, HOT, HOT video.

Wow, I can’t believe she actually mentioned Appalachian State by name.
The fact that she botched that question so badly and still finished third runner-up tells you how stringent these pageants are.
Apparent thought process of the Miss Teen USA judges:
“Hmm… she botched that pretty bad… mmm, boobs…’everywhere like such as,’ who says that… mmm, blonde… I can’t believe she called Iraq ‘The Iraq’… mmm. bikini… I think I’ll give her a 9.1.”
